Ecology ministry continues monitoring in transboundary rivers

According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry, currently, water richness holds 60-180% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 60-90% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 45-75% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 15-20% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.

Water consumption holds 273 m3/sec, i.e. 46% of decade norm (in 2011, 98%, being 585 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 173 m3/sec, i.e. 88% of decade norm (in 2011, 113%, being 221 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.

At present, water level holds 367 cm (On June 7, 2011, 611 cm) in Surra settlement, 229 cm (On June 7, 2011, 517 cm) in Shirvan region, 184 cm (On June 7, 2011, 506 cm) in Salyan region, 219 cm (On June 7, 2011, 323 cm) in Banka settlement, while 83 cm (On June 7, 2011, 365 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
