The Azerbaijani Transport Ministry does not intend to continue the limitations, applied during Eurovision song contest for reduction of car density in the center of Baku, deputy transport minister Musa Penahov said.
He said that other methods will be used in order to solve traffic jam in the center of the capital. The deputy minister noted that currently, the works are underway in this direction: ‘One of the solutions is the establishment of underground and surface parkings. At the same time, there is need for improvement of parking issues on the roads. There are a lot of commercial facilities in the city center, workers of these facilities came to work at 8-9 am and park their cars here. So, such cars fill the central street until 9 pm. The owners of such cars do not bear any administrative or economic responsibility, consequently, people, who come to the city center for anything can not find place for their cars’.
Penahov noted that new normative legal documents would be prepared for the solution of these problems, parking issues were planned to reconsider at every pore.
Besides, at present, parkings are being constructed in Azadlig Square and behind Heydar Aliyev palace: ‘Such constructions will be continued in future, as well’.
