
Members of the National Preventive Mechanism Group and Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova visited the prison No 5 in Ganja, as well as the temporary detention centers in Gazakh, Agstafa, Tovuz, Gadabay, Goygol regions.
The violations were revealed in the prison No 5, the Ombudsman's office told Trend today.
It was found that the conditions of detention, sanitary and hygienic conditions do not correspond to the standards. There are shortcomings in the documentation.
Ombudsman contacted the Ministry of Justice and recommended to eliminate these gaps.
While visiting the police stations, they spoke with individuals detained there. Their rights were explained to them.
The detainees did not complain about poor treatment by management and staff.
The detention centers in police stations of Goygol and Samukh regions have been recently put into operation and meet modern standards.
While visiting the temporary detention centers in police stations in Shamkir and Gadabay regions, the violations were revealed in detention conditions and documentation.
Ombudsman contacted Interior Minister and recommended to punish those who committed the violation as part of legislation.
