Baku Metro unveils future plans

Work on the improvement of Baku Metro’s material-technical base is to be carried out under the state program, a source in Baku Metro reported.

Thus, the ventilation system at the stations and tunnels will be modernized with a view to improve the microclimate at the Baku Metro.

Based on the State Program on Baku Metro Development, there will be upgrade the subway park, subway traffic control and radio communications on trains will be modernized on the basis of the new technology, maintenance vehicles, machines for washing cars and tunnels will be purchased. 

In addition, in order to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity it is planned to build a substation, lay new power lines, create alternative sources of energy. Moreover, it provides for the establishment of new sources of energy to supply electricity stations and electrical stores, which will be built.
 
The entire work must be completed by late 2015.
