
The Azerbaijani State Migration Service deported 900 foreigners in May.
The Migration Service employees have carried out relevant activities to identify and prevent illegal migration, cases of violation of the rules of temporary and permanent residence of foreigners and stateless persons in Azerbaijan, the State Migration Service told Trend on Monday.
As a result of the measures taken in May, 1238 foreign nationals were found violating the requirements of administrative law.
The decision was made to deport 777 foreigners within 48 hours and to administratively expel 106 foreigners based on state legislation, the service reported. Through fines, the residence of 335 people was legalized.
In may 2012, the service received 4872 appeals from the foreigners and stateless persons in connection with the extension of stay in the country, issuance of a permit for permanent and temporary accommodation, admission to citizenship, restoring and denial of citizenship, as well as the definition of citizenship and refugee status, issuance and extension of individual work permit.
According to the report, the service has reviewed each complaint in accordance with the laws of the country and made the appropriate decision.
