Supreme Court to consider four convicted individuals’ appeals

On June 5 the Azerbaijani Supreme Court will consider the appeals of four people convicted for taking part in an unsanctioned rally, held by the so-called public chamber on April 2, 2011.

The court will consider the appeals of convicted Sahib Kerimov, Elnur Israfilov, Elshan Hasanov and Babak Hasanov found guilty upon Article 233 (organising activity that disrupts public order, or active participation in such actions) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code, the Supreme Court told Trend today.

According to the verdict of the Sabail District Court, Kerimov and Elshan Hasanov were sentenced for two years, Israfilov for two and a half years and Babak Hasanov 18 months.
