CMO head meets Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia

Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade has met with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on the sidelines of the fourth congress of leaders of world and traditional religions, held in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Addressing the event, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade conveyed greetings and best wishes of Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
The sides exchanged views on activity of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Inter-Religious Council.

The sides also highlighted the importance of the religious leaders` meetings in interreligious dialog and cooperation held in Moscow and Baku at the initiative of the Council. Inviting Patriarch Kirill again to visit Azerbaijan Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade expressed assurance on the fact that the visit would be efficient between the states, as well as in the Post-Soviet region.

Patriarch Kirill, in his turn, praised the activity of Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade not only as the co-chair of CIS Inter-Religious Council, but also chairman of the CIS Muslims Advisory Council.

The sides also discussed development prospects between Caucasian Muslims Board and Russian Orthodox Church.
