Results of the monitoring in Baku and Absheron peninsula have been made public. Chief of Sanitary Department of Republican Hygiene and Epidemiology Center Ziyaddin Kazimov reported that preparatory condition of the beaches to the season was learnt and laboratory examinations of sea water were carried out.
According to him, the results of physical, chemical and toxicological analyzes of sea water were the same with the results of the monitoring of last years: “According to the results of the analyzes, sea water quality at beaches in Mardakan, Shuvalan, Novkhani, Buzovna, Zagulba, Pirshagi, Bilgah, Nardaran, Turkan and Hovsan correspond to norms. Bacteriological pollution was observed at the beaches Sahil and Shikh located in Garadagh and Sabayil district. In these areas, because the waste water in large volumes without appropriate norms and standards of cleaning has been drained into the sea and the number of intestinal bacteria is above the norm. That’s why the decision on these beaches, which was made in 2010, will be effective this year too.
Considering the serious risk of the current situation over last two years and spread of infectious diseases among the population, usage of the two beaches “Sahil” and “Shikh” in Garadagh and Sabail districts has been prohibited.
