Innovations to be applied in Azerbaijan’s education system

The use of ‘cloud computing’ is expected in the Azerbaijani education system since 2013, the Azerbaijani Education Ministry’s Office for Informatization of Education System reported. The innovation is to be applied under the state program on informatization of the education system, which starts in 2013.
 
"The new state program is designed to bring the informatization of the education system to a new level. Based on the state program, the work will be continued on computerization of schools, deployment of ‘cloud computing’ and use of e-books, etc.," the report reads.
 
Today, the office is working on connecting to the country’s secondary schools with the Azerbaijan Education Network (AzEduNet). So far, 200 educational institutions have joined the network. It’s is expected to bring the number of the schools connected to the AzEduNet network to 1,700 by late 2012.

In each school connected to the AzEduNet network, comprehensive preparatory work is conducted on the standardization of computer hardware and software, a local network installed to connect all the computer classes, the principal's office, teachers' room and library. Connecting to the network can provide high-speed exchange of information between educational institutions in the country, as well as easier access to the content.
