Water level ups in Azerbaijani rivers

The level of water in some Azerbaijani rivers increased. The senior hydrologist of the Hydrometeorological Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Bureau Asif Verdiyev said the level of Gandja River flowing through the territory of the Lesser Caucasus increased 6 cm, Kurekchay’s 14 cm and the river running through the territory of Lankaran-Astara rised 32 cm.

A high water level was observed in Vileshchay River flowing through the same territory: “ The level of the Kura river’s water increased 5 and Ganikh’s in 3 cm, but small decrease was observed on the lower part of the Kura river”. Verdiyev says that currenlty short-term floods are observed due to intensive rainfall.
