
Servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces will participate in NATO’s Cooperative Longbow/Lancer 2012 training which will be held in Macedonia next week, press service of the Defense Ministry reported.
The training, which will continue till May 29, is held within the Partnership for Peace (PfP) program and has a purpose of mutual improvement of forces between NATO and partner countries.
APA reports quoting the website of NATO’s Allied Command Operations (ACO) that 1000 servicemen from 13 countries will attend this year’s training. Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Ukraine are among the post-soviet countries that will attend the conference.
Cooperative Longbow training covers the preparation of operations in the headquarters, at brigade level, Cooperative Lancer training covers the tactic training covering the crisis prevention, conflict settlement and peace support after the conflicts.
