Youth organize “Green Walk” in Baku - PHOTOS

“NUR” Children and Youth Public Union held on a “Green Walkathon for the Environment” within the “Econect” project supported by British Council and the Global Changemakers network. Young people aimed to raise awareness about the environmental issues and empower people to act for the environment in their community walked a 3km thon in the National Park of Baku city.

The green walk-a-thon started from the Sea Port and continued until the “Azneft” Square.
Participant of the walk-a-thon wearing green t-shirts, have raised awareness about the environment and the environmental issues by distributing 1000 IEC materials prepared especially for this project and were ready to answer questions. The handouts included “Must know” information about the environment, global warming and how to help its prevention. Walk-a-thon participants also surprised children with green balloons. Averagely, “Green Walkathon for the environment” has raised awareness among 3000 people.

Moreover, “NUR” Children and Youth Public Union has organized a seminar within the project on “Youth and protection of the environment” topic in Caspian Business Centre. Environment, global warming and its cause, prevention actions that everybody is capable of doing and organization`s future activities in this sphere was discussed during the seminar.

 “NUR” Children and Youth Public Union has organized the walk-a-thon within the “Econect” project supported by British Council and the Global Changemakers network. This project is implemented by 5 globalchangemaker from Canada, Philippines, Nepal, Macedonia and Azerbaijan. The project is implemented by “NUR” Children and Youth Public Union in Azerbaijan.
