Quake not affects gas supplies to north-western regions of Azerbaijan

The recent earthquake has not affected gas supplies to consumers in the north-western regions of Azerbaijan, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend on Monday.

Azerigas is on SOCAR's balance.

"There are no problems with gas supply to areas in the north-west of the country. The earthquake did not affect the supply of gas in this direction," SOCAR noted.

Severe tremors measuring 5.5 points on the Richter scale (7 points on 12-point scale) jolted the north-west of Azerbaijan (in the area between Zagatala and Gakh regions) at 9:40 on Monday morning.

The epicenter was in 17 kilometers south-west from the Zagatala city. Zagatala region is located in the north-west of Azerbaijan in 372 kilometers from Baku.

There are no victims as a result of the earthquake.
