
Today marks the third anniversary of the tragedy in the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. Twenty nine-year-old Farda Gadirov began shooting in the second building of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy April 30, 2009. About 12 people were killed, 13 - injured. Gadirov was surrounded by the police and committed suicide.
A criminal case has been filed under articles: terrorism, deliberate murder, smuggling, illegal purchase, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of firearms, component parts, ammunition, illegal manufacture, production, acquisition, storage, transport, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or precursors.
The investigation of the law enforcement agencies found that Farda Gadirov fulfilled the Armenian Intelligence Service's order. According to investigation materials, he permanently contacted with the Armenian Martin Gumashyanm who is the Georgian citizen. Farda got a large amount of money and arm to fulfill this order.
The international search was announced towards Gumashyan who ordered the terrorist attack in April last year in the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. The Azerbaijani Serious Crimes Court sentenced Nadir Aliyev, Javidan Amirov and Najaf Suleymanov to a life imprisonment and Ariz Gabulov to 11-year imprisonment.
The sentenced individuals filed an appeal due to the court's decision. The process on the sentenced individuals' appeals is underway in Baku Appeal Court.
