
Within 24 hours after the patient is admitted to the medical institution in Azerbaijan, the administration of the medical institution must inform the patient’s relatives or his/her legal representatives, or the district police office.
APA reports that this is indicated in the draft law on “The rights of the patient”. According to the new law, medical intervention, use of medicines that make impossible the further control over the human body are banned.
With the exception of the cases that require the patient’s interests, it is banned to take out prosthesis, organs, tissues and environment, including abortive materials, tissues and environment discharged during the birth. It concerns the bodies of dead people as well. If relatives don’t claim the body, it will be allowed to use organs and tissues of the dead person for education.
It is banned to restrict the rights of patients for their race, ethnicity, faith, belief, sex, political and social status.
The patient should be informed about the paid services and their costs in the medical institutions in advance and placed in special places allocated for these purposes.
