M.F. Akhundov library to get new image - PHOTOS

The project on reconstruction and technical equipment of the Azerbaijan National Library named after M.F. Akhundov is already ready, First Secretary of the Azerbaijani Union of Architects Elbay Gasimzade told Milli.Az.

The library building was constructed on the basis of the project of People's Architect of the USSR, , Hero of Socialist Labor, Academician Mikayil Huseynov in 1950s.
 
The reconstruction project stipulates construction of an additional floor and supplement of the façade with new decorative elements. The  interior decoration of the main premises will be restored upon the M.Useyibov’s drawings.
 
Gasimzade reported that the draft project has already been approved and it’s expected to launch the reconstruction work next year.
