
On Tuesday, Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Zakir Garalov met with a delegation led by Head of the Main Department of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine Yuri Viytev who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan said.
Garalov noted that Azerbaijan and Ukraine are interested in further deepening and developing of relations between the two countries.
Garalov also informed the guests about the progressive legislation acts signed by President Ilham Aliyev for the modernisation of the judicial system, about establishment of the legal framework necessary for the activity of prosecutors and military prosecutors, the implementation of the modernisation process of the prosecution bodies and conduct of radical changes, the activities of the Department for Fighting corruption under the Prosecutor General, as well as on the structure, activities and upcoming tasks of the military prosecutor's office.
Viytev, for his part, stressed the importance of discussing the prospects for cooperation between military prosecution bodies of the two countries, exchange of experiences and information, as well as mutual visits to enhance the effectiveness of investigative work.
He said his organization attaches great importance to developing relations with Azerbaijan.
At the meeting the sides stressed the importance of strengthening and further development of bilateral ties between military prosecution bodies. There was a broad exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko and Military Prosecutor of Azerbaijan Khanlar Veliyev.
