Digital broadcasting launched in Baku

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies has applied one more technology in the sphere of radio and television broadcasting-digital radio (HD radio).

According to the press release for the Ministry, broadcasting of radio programs of Republican and public radio in HD format is currently carried out in Baku and on the Absheron peninsula along with analogous FM broadcasting on 105.0 MHz frequency.

The main aim of passing to digital format in radio broadcasting is improving the quality of reception of the radio programs, effective distribution of frequencies and creation of conditions for transfer of text and graphic information along with radio programs. Radio programs in digital format are possible through HD-receivers, as well as in cars produced over the past few years.
