Large-scale archeological excavations will be conducted

Archeological excavations will be conducted in 40 regions of Azerbaijan this year, deputy director of the Archeology and Ethnography Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Najaf Museyibli said.

According to him, archeological excavations will start in May-June and continue till the autumn, before rainy season. Museyibli said that electronic cartography of the archeological monuments in Ganja-Gazakh, Garabagh and Nakhchivan has been started since this year. This process will cover stage-by-stage the archeological monument in the other regions. Currently more than 2000 monuments are in the state registration. More than 40 monuments of them are of universal importance.
