Hydrological measurements conducted in Kura river

Specialists of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry carried out hydrological measurement works in Giragkasaman settlement of the river of Kura for the purpose of estimation of transboundary flow, and use of outcomes in flow forecasts of the period of water richness.

In this regard, slats installed in Giragkasaman settlement were leveled, and their heights were checked once again in order to gauge the level of Kura river. Likewise, width cut profile of the river was taken out by measuring the width, depths and velocity in several plummets of the river with the purpose to determine the actual water consumption of the river.

According to the measurements performed in Giragkasaman settlement of the river of Kura to assess the transboundary flow, de-facto water level in the abovementioned settlement is 426 cm, while the actual water consumption is 812 m3/sec (109% of decade norm).
