Three modern dredge ships have been brought to the Kur River. TS1, TS2 and TS3 dredge ships will be used in dredging works in the Kur River, chief of Caspian Basin Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Agalar Ibrahimov said, APA’s Mil-Mughan bureau reports. Service chief said the Caspian Basin Rescue Service’s department for dredging works is constructing three bases along the Kur River to organize dredging works.
The main base of the dredging works is being constructed in Garali village of Neftchala region. The other two bases will be auxiliary bases. 2.2 ha area has been allotted for dredging works in II Garali village. This base will ensure the functioning of the newly-established body. Full infrastructure will be created here, hostel, administrative building, storehouses, repair shop will be built here.
Agalar Ibrahimov said two auxiliary bases are being constructed in Sabirabad and Salyan. These bases will not have infrastructure, some cargo will be directly delivered to these bases, small repair work will be done there. A dredge ship is operational at the sedimentary basin in Neftchala region. One ship is doing dredging work to ensure the access of the Kur River to the sea. The second ship is in the territory of the main base. The third ship will be delivered to Salyan on April 13.
Service chief of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the projection work on the above-mentioned issues started in 2010. At first the research and analyses were carried out in Kur river. All depths in 224 km distance were examined and all dangerous zones were determined along the river. The plans and projects were developed for carrying out very exact digging works in those dangerous zones. The results of the analyses revealed the parts of the river which needed expansion and dredging works. It was decided to carry out dredging and expansion works in 10km area in Neftchala, Salyan and Sabirabad regions.
Ibrahimov said that dredge ships possessed modern digital technology. According to him, modern electronic equipments were analyzed through computer technology, the depths were examined, the river’s morphology was studied and active and dangerous areas were determined. It determines the work to be done in the territory. All results are given to the computer memory and the ship does these works automatically. People just play a role of operator. “These analyzes have been already finished. Now the real works are being carried out”, he said.
