
According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry , currently water richness holds 95-210% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 80-85% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 60-100% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara region, while 20-25% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.
Water consumption holds 388 m3/sec, i.e. 83% of decade norm (in 2011, 103%, being 483 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 114 m3/sec, i.e. 83% of decade norm (in 2011, 146%, being 202 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.
Over the past three days, water level has decreased in the downstream of Kura river. In this regard, water level has diminished 36 cm in Surra settlement of the river of Kura, 81 cm in Shirvan region, 75 cm in Salyan region, 35 cm in Banka settlement, and 55 cm in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river. At present, water level holds 490 cm (On April 9, 2011, 594 cm) in Surra settlement, 383 cm (On April 9, 2011, 490 cm ) in Shirvan region, 328 cm (On April 9, 2011, 412 cm) in Salyan region, 264 cm (On April 9, 2011, 307 cm) in Banka settlement, while 270 cm (On April 9, 2011, 313 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
