Azeri doctors holds simultaneous organ transplantations

Simultaneous liver and kidney transplantations were held for the first time in Azerbaijan, Central Hospital of Oil Chief Physician Workers Habib Yuzbashev told Trend.

Yuzbashev noted that the transplantation of two organs was carried out simultaneously. It was conducted by surgeons Mirdzhalal Kyazymi, Eldar Ahmadov Elnur Faradzhev and lasted 24 hours.

The operation was carried out on 40-year-old patient who had cirrhosis of the liver and kidney neuropathy. Liver first and then kidney was transplanted to the patient. The patient's health condition is good.
