'Azerbaijan gives special attention to ecology'

The 6th International Environmental Project Olympiad (Inepo-Euroasia) took place here, on April 6-7. Azerbaijani deputy minister of education Gulu Novruzov gave an interview to journalists.

He said: “Organization of high-level International Environmental Project Olympiad (Inepo-Euroasia) can be described as assessment of the world community to environmental policy being carried out in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan hosted the two day international event. The 6th International Environmental Project Olympiad (Inepo-Euroasia) was the biggest contest among the school pupils. The number of participating countries increased from 10 in 2007 to 42 with attendance of over 400 school pupils. It demonstrates that Azerbaijan is able to host such a high-level contest.

The other important thing is that Inepo-Euroasia Project is held every year in Baku. The teams from Europe, Asia, Africa and different countries participated in the Olympiad. The ecology is one of the painful and global problems of the world and Azerbaijan gives special attention to this problem and implements a State Program”.
