The Azerbaijani Education Ministry works on an interesting alternative for students; if student is dissatisfied with the level of teaching of particular lesson at his/her high school, then he/she can study it at another university, Ministry’s Higher and Secondary Special Education Department head Ilham Mustafayev said.
He said such an opportunity in higher education is linked with the credit system. In this regard, work is underway to amend the relevant documents.
Mustafayev noted that if student wants to study particular lessons at another university, then he/she must agree this with the university rector. Student’s marks given at another university will be considered in the higher education institution, where he/she receives a basic education. If student not agrees his/her decision with the university rector, then consideration of his/her marks will depend on the university. So after all it is advisable to negotiate.
Following this amendment, transfer of students from one university to another will lose sense. "As, students mainly wish to change their universities, in case of dissatisfaction with the level of the teaching at the higher education institutes,” he noted.
