Nowruz holiday marked abroad

The Nowruz holiday was celebrated in Drezden, the province of Saxony in Germany. The event brought together members of the Azerbaijani, Jewish, Ukrainian, Russian and Lithuanian communities.

Addressing the event head of “Alm.az” Society Agahuseyn Babayev spoke of traditions of the Nowruz holiday.

Head of Presidential Administration of Saxony Klaus-Peter Kohler congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the holiday and read out the letter of President of Saxony.

Czech Consul in Saxony Petr Jaroš congratulated the Azerbaijani people, as well. Secretary of Consulate of Kazakhstan in Saxony Mrs Alevtina Bottner spoke of friendly relations between Azerbaijani and Kazakh peoples. She extended congratulations of Kazakh ambassador Nurlan Ockhanov to the event participants.

Representative of Drezden Mayor`s Office Birgit Weibgerber and parliamentarians congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the holiday.

An event called “Spring Holiday” was organized by the Sweden –Azerbaijan Federation in Stockholm. The celebration event was attended by Azerbaijanis living in Sweden, representatives of Turkish, Russian and Chinese communities and local general public.

Chairman of the Sweden-Azerbaijan Federation Sattar Sevgi provided information on the Nowruz traditions.

Head of the Ataturk Ideology Center Mustafa Sonmez underlined the importance of the holiday for whole Turkish world. Azerbaijani art masters performed in the event.
