New landslides occur in Baku

A new landslide zone has been revealed in the Masazir settlement (Absheron region), situated not far from Baku, chief engineer at the comprehensive expedition on hydrogeology and engineering geology of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry (ENRM), Shaig Niftiyev told Trend.

He said the landslide zone in the settlement has been revealed for the first time. The territory hit by landslide is located in the western part of Salt Lake, on the hillside.

The relevant authorities have been already informed about active landslides in this zone, which may seriously impact private residential homes in this area. Ground water washed the soil in this area. A visible progress is observed in terms of landslide processes.
