Smuggling of over $0.4mln prevented in Azerbaijan

The State Customs Committee (SCC) halted smuggling of more than $40,000 out of the country.

In February and early March, the General Customs Directorate at the Air Transport of the SCC stopped attempts of illegal export of undeclared currency in a large amount from the country by local and foreign nationals, the press service of the SCC told Trend on Tuesday.

From these individuals - citizens of Azerbaijan Azer Abdullayev during Baku-Dubai flight $4,500 were seized, Shamkhal Pashayev - (Baku-Dubai) - $3,000, Asaf Heydarov (Baku-Doha) - $4,500, Nusret Heydarov (Baku -Doha) - $3,000, Elvin Mammadov (Baku-Doha) - $3,000, Ismail Huseynli (Baku-Istanbul) - $3,500, Shahzade Sadikhova (Baku-Istanbul) - $4,000, Mikail Javadzadeh (Baku-Istanbul ) - $3,900, citizens of Russia - Yasha Izrailov (Baku-Moscow) - $3,000, Rafiq Eynullaev (Baku-Novosibirsk) - $2,200, Ruslan Sahuev (Baku-Istanbul) - $4,100 and citizen of IRI Seyed Bagheri Mohammad Ali Ataollahi (Baku-Tehran) - $1,600. In general, $40,300 were seized.

Investigation into all cases continues.
