
A delegation of the All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature (LFL) named after Margarita
Rudomino visited on Monday Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism, where they met with deputy minister Vagif Aliyev.
The ways of boosting cooperation between libraries of the two countries was discussed in the meeting with the Russian delegation invited by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to Azerbaijan.
Vagif Aliyev provided information on the role of libraries in the information society, orders signed by Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev for development of libraries, as well as the State Program in 2008.
General Director of the All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature Yekateraina Geniyeva also highlighted cooperation in preparation of bilinguistics projects and bringin translation work in line with modern standards.
She also told about the Azerbaijani center established in LFL noting that a bust to great Azerbaijani playwright Mirza Fatali Akhundzade would be erected on the occasion of his 200th anniversary in the library`s alley.
*****The members of Moscow Library for Foreign Literature have today visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The guests were informed on the activity of the Foundation. They were told the main goal of the Foundation, established in the memory of the Azerbaijani people`s national leader, is to study and popularize prominent political figure Heydar Aliyev`s rich heritage, give an idea to the future generations and foreign visitors about his large-scale activity to achieve Azerbaijan`s socio-economic, cultural progress, and assist projects promoting the country`s history and culture.
The guests saw exhibits taken from the archive of the great leader and reflecting his childhood, youth, university years and career, pictures covering the very various moments of his life and giving a comprehensive idea of the whole history of Azerbaijan, photos taken with figures of science, culture and art, leaders of different countries and prototype of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
The guests also watched a documentary on Heydar Aliyev`s activity.
