'Women' statistics announced

According to the data of State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan women accounted for 50.4% of the country population by early March.

The report from the Statistics Committee reports that for the reported date the country numbered 4.664 million women and 58,8% of them were married. 24 children accounted for 10 women on average in the country. At that average life expectancy of the women is by 5.3 years more than men and makes 76.2 years.

Among the economy employees women account for 48.5%, including 35,1% science doctors and 55,3% scientific employees. 11 women are correspondent members of Science Academy and 3- academicians.  Women constitute 28,3% of state employees , 16,2% of entrepreneurs, 28% of sportswomen and 16% of Parliament MPs.
