Current condition in transit rivers assessed

According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry currently, water richness holds 115-185% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 130-135% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 55-75% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 20-25% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.

Water consumption holds 144 m3/sec, i.e. 60% of decade norm (in 2011, 62%, being 150 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 82 m3/sec, i.e. 100% of decade norm (in 2011, 86%, being 71 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.


At present, water level holds 704 cm (On March 6, 2011, 648 cm) in Surra settlement, 584 cm (On March 6, 2011, 534 cm) in Shirvan region, 518 cm (On March 6, 2011, 479 cm) in Salyan region, 363 cm (On March 6, 2011, 345 cm) in Banka settlement, while 410 cm (On March 6, 2011, 368 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
