Major Caucasus rivers monitored

According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry), currently, water richness holds 120-225% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 130-135% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 90-100% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 20-25% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.

Water consumption holds 140 m3/sec, i.e. 58% of decade norm (in 2011, 66%, being 160 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 81 m3/sec, i.e. 99% of decade norm (in 2011, 90%, being 74 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.

At present, water level holds 676 cm (On March 2, 2011, 632 cm) in Surra settlement, 563 cm (On March 2, 2011, 528 cm) in Shirvan region, 502 cm (on March 2, 2011, 466 cm) in Salyan region, 359 cm (On March 2, 2011, 343 cm) in Banka settlement, while 376 cm (On March 2, 2011, 354 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
