
Chief Engineer of Complex Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Expedition of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Shaig Niftiyev said the activation of was observed in residential area between General Shikhlinski Street and Ganja Avenue of Khatai district of Baku.
“The landslide mass consisting of 4 blocks appeared there. The length of the splits is 160-180 meters, width – 1-1.5 meters, depth – 2-4 meters. The landslide mass moved towards Ganja Avenue, told APA. According to him, large hollows were observed at site: “The landslide occurred as a result of heavy rains in the last two months. If the splits are not filled by clay, the certain consequences will be caused by rains,” he said.
Niftiyev said that the specialists of the National Geological Exploration Service took the territory over the control: “The lighthouses are repeatedly observed. No development is observed in the dynamics of the landslide. The corresponding government agencies will be informed about any progress”.
