Ecology Ministry reports about condition in country’s rivers

 The National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry reported that water richness holds 120-210% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 145-155% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 60-100% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 20-25% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.

Water consumption holds 127 m3/sec, i.e. 74% of decade norm (in 2011, 96%, being 165 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 56 m3/sec, i.e. 80% of decade norm (in 2011, 74%, being 52 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.

At present, water level holds 627 cm (On February 16, 2011, 537 cm) in Surra settlement, 518 cm (On February 16, 2011, 429 cm) in Shirvan region, 339 cm (On February 16, 2011, 317 cm) in Banka settlement, while 375 cm (On February 16, 2011, 261 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
