Education Ministry seeks changes in education system

Education Minister Misir Mardanov believes the system of admission to higher education institutions in Azerbaijan should be updated.

"The test system has great advantages, but without the oral examination it is impossible to select people who can become proficient in several professions," he said at a roundtable ‘The Future of National Education’ held in the framework of the ‘Azerbaijan 2020: A Look into the future’ concept today.  
 
Moreover, the minister said, persons who have received teacher training will be required to undergo annual training in the internship. "Now, the Medical University’s students pass the internship and this system is used throughout the world. We can not allow persons, who just graduated from the university, to teach in school,” Mardanov said.
