Police official detained for bribery

A Sabunchu District Police Department employee has been detained while accepting a bribe. R.Bahirova contacted the Interior Ministry on Feb. 11. She said a person who introduced himself as a member of the Sabunchu police demanded a bribe from her relative H.Babayev to avoid prosecution, the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office told Trend today.

Police Mayor Nureddin Gambarov was detained while accepting a $1,500 bribe. The case is under investigation.
