Explosion leaves Baku’s settlements without gas

A heavy-duty truck with liquefied natural gas exploded at a gas station in Baku, the Nizami District Police Department told Trend. The explosion occurred suddenly.

Azerigas of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) temporarily suspended the gas supply in Nizami, Khatai and Sabunchunskom districts of Baku in connection with the accident , company spokesman Kyamandar Eyvazli said earlier.
 
The gas supply in these areas has been suspended in order to avoid another accident. “The main reason of problem occurred in gas supply is a clash of truck carrying propane gas in Nizami district several hours ago and the occurrence of fire as a result,” he said.  He did not mention when the gas supply will be restored.
