Today, 720 buses set out to provide public transportation in Baku, but about 300 of them are stuck in the road, Azerbaijani Transport Ministry’s spokesman Namig Hasanov said.
He said that taxis works in normal mode. The ministry makes efforts to clear the roads, but technique can not reach high areas of the capital due to severe icing roads, he noted. He said about 70 buses were damaged in accidents last week due to the bad weather.
The Baku International Bus Station also reported that deteriorated weather conditions in Azerbaijan do not allow the implementation of both intercity and international travels.
"We have not set out a single bus, and it is unclear when it will be possible to perform travels. The weather conditions do not allow sending buses to their destinations.”
