
The National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry reported that currently, water richness holds 120-195% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 160-175% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 65-110% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 25-30% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.
Water consumption holds 136 m3/sec, i.e. 82% of decade norm (in 2011, 128%, being 213 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 70 m3/sec, i.e. 102% of decade norm (in 2011, 103%, being 71 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.
At present, stable water richness is observed in the downstream of Kura river. In this regard, water level holds 551 cm (On February 1, 2011, 460 cm) in Surra settlement, 443 cm (On February 1, 2011, 368 cm) in Shirvan region, 307 cm (On February 1, 2011, 286 cm) in Banka settlement, while 273 cm (On February 1, 2011, 250 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
