Azerbaijan issues about 1.3 million manat to media

About 1.3 million manat is allocated to the newspapers in Azerbaijan in 2011. The regular meeting of the Supervisory Board of Fund of State Support for Mass Media under the President of Azerbaijan was held this week. Executive Director of the Fund Vugar Safarli gave extensive information on the outcome of the organization in 2011. Nearly 2.407 million manat was allocated to Fund from the state budget in 2011.

Safarli noted that 23,596,000 manat was allocated to 23 newspapers in the first half of 2011 and 681,000 manat to 29 newspapers in the second half of 2011. Some 30,000 manat was allocated to the Conservation of the literary language in media space of Azerbaijan project.
Some 1 ,306 ,333 manat was allocated from state budget to the media. Some 70 ,000 manat and special diplomas were granted to 70 winners of competitions organized by the Foundation.
