'Women`s education is important'

An event called “Education of women and girls” was held in central library of Shirvan region of Azerbaijan. The event co-organized by the United States Embassy in Azerbaijan, IREX (the International Research and Exchanges Board) brought together representatives of women organizations operating in the region, non-government organizations (NGOs) and members of community.

Addressing the event, US Embassy`s official Christopher John said that the education of women and girls has a significant role not only in the popularization of gender equality, but also in the solution of several problems of the 21st century.

Business lady from California Alicia Morga delivered a report on the relevant issue. She stressed the importance of the education of women and shared her views on the business.
Employee of IREX Sara Hennessey provided information on the education programmes implemented by the US not only in Azerbaijan, but also in different countries of the world.
