UK, Azerbaijan to expand academic contacts

Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan Peter Bateman visited the Nakhchivan State University. According to the press service of the Nakhchivan State University, Peter Bateman held a meeting with rector of the university, Academician Isa Habibbayli.

Mr. Habibbayli briefed the guest on Azerbaijan-UK cooperation relations and joint projects implementing in the sphere of education. The rector noted the Nakhchivan State University`s cooperation with UK`s Preston and Essex universities, courses organized through the British Council stressing the relations with 60 higher educational institutions of the world.

Habibbayli said that the Nakhchivan State University is interested in boosting relations with UK`s higher schools highlighting the continuation of inter-university cooperation as part of Tempus programme. Peter Bateman, in his turn, expressed his confidence on further cooperation among the universities of the two countries and expansion of bilateral academic contacts.
