Azerbaijan chooses ‘Capital of Youth’

The Youth & Sports Ministry is running choice of "The Capital of Youth" as a part of theprogram "Azerbaijan’s Youth in 2011-2015’  The Ministry informs that voting on granting the status of "The Capital of Youth" takes place at website www.genclerpaytaxti.az till 11:59 pm  on Jan.30.

The voting is open to all, regardless of place of residence, citizenship, age and nationality, but the participants must adhere to the rules – only one person can vote from one computer, who will add one point to the candidacy of a city.

The ministry will announce the winner  on Feb.2 - Youth Day in Azerbaijan. The campaign is aimed to improve and develop work with young people in the country’s regions.

The status of "The Capital of Youth" in Azerbaijan is granted for one year on the condition of provision of active participation of youth in public, political, social, economic and cultural life, raising its intellectual and creative potential. This will increase attention to the possibilities and abilities of young people, realization of their ideas and solving social problems of youth.

Under the program, every year, until 2015, with the exception of Baku, one of the cities or regions will be declared "The Capital of Youth".
