
The earthquake measuring 9.5 occurred in Russia on December 27. It did not affect Azerbaijan, Director of the Republican Seismological Service of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Gurban Etirmishli reported.
He said that at present, the seismicity is on the background level. There are no tangible tremors in Azerbaijan, Etirmishli said.
The earthquake measuring 9.5 occurred in the Republic of Tuva, the Russian Federation occurred on Dec. 27 evening. The epicenter of the earthquake was 92 kilometers east of the administrative center of Tuva, Kyzyl. Tremors were felt in Khakassia, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Kemerovo and Tomsk regions.
