Azerbaijan in top five importers of ammunition from Russia

Azerbaijan took the fifth place among the countries importing land forces ammunition for Russia, Head of the Moscow-based arms think tank Centre for Analysis of World Arms Trade (CAWAT) Igor Korotchenko,  RIA Novosti reported.

The center developed 10 rating tables of ammunition export segment for Russian land forces. 3 agreements and 7 supplying programs are included here.

Azerbaijan has started producing trail development batch of AK-74M submachine-guns. The serial production of these submachine-guns have started at the fourth quarter of 2011. The term of agreement signed on it with “Rosoboronexport” is 10 years. The overall production is 120,000 submachine-guns. The main executor of the contract from the Russian side is “Group of Companies Ijmash” .
