Georgia to support villages

The Georgian government is launching a new program to promote the villages. During his visit to the Dilikauri village in the Zestafoni region (Western Georgia), President Mikheil Saakashvili gave the owner a voucher worth 30 lari (about $19).

"It's certainly not a lot of money, but it will buy fuel for the treatment of his land, or fertilizers, which are also sufficient for the processing of their land," he said. Saakashvili said that the voucher will be sent to each family in the villages and towns from Dec.20.

Saakashvili met with the local population and inaugurated a new medical center in Zestafoni.. The new medical center built by "Irao" insurance company within the project on the  hospital sector development the. Some 2 million lari ($ 1 = 1.65 lari) was invested in the construction.
