‘UN Refugee Agency's activities in Georgia is important’

As a part of the 18th meeting of the OSCE Council of Ministers in Vilnius, the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Sergi Kapanadze, met the Deputy Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe of the UN Refugee Agency, Mr. Guillermo Bettocchi this week, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.

The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister began by emphasizing the importance of the UN Refugee Agency's activities in Georgia. Discussions then focused on the issues discussed within the framework of the second working group under the Geneva Talks, with a special emphasis on the status of internally-displaced persons and refugees from Georgia's occupied regions. Mr. Kapanadze and Mr. Bettocchi underlined the importance of the need for internally-displaced persons and refugees to return to their places of residence.
