19 October 2011 [16:53] - TODAY.AZ
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has today stated that Turkey seeks a support from all countries to fight against the terrorism, CNN Turk reported.

The fight against terrorism will take a long term-battle, he said. Twenty one Turkish militaries were killed and eighteen got injured in a clash with Kurd terrorists in the Hakkari province on Wednesday.

Turkey has recently initiated an active struggle against terrorism.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which has continued for more than 25 years, put an end to lives of over 40,000 people. PKK is recognized as terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.

PPK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, launched an armed campaign for an ethnic homeland in the mainly Kurdish southeastern Turkey in 1984, sparking decades of strife that has claimed more than 30,000 lives.
