Turkey, US Business Council to convene in Istanbul

The first meeting of Turkey-USA Business Council will take place in Istanbul on September 19.

Turkey's Ministry of Economy said in a statement on Friday, "Turkish Undersecretary Ahmet Yakici and U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sanchez will co-chair the meeting."

Investment and trade opportunities as well as Turkey-USA cooperation in third countries will be high on agenda of the meeting.

Yakici and Sanchez are set to hold a joint news conference following the meeting.

Established under the "U.S.-Turkey Framework for Strategic Economic and Commercial Cooperation" to intensify economic and commercial cooperation across a wide range of areas, the Business Council aims at bringing representatives from Turkish and U.S. private sectors at least once in a year.
