Georgia detains Armenian gold smugglers

Armenian citizens Karen Melikyan, Araik Paronyna and Garegin Ovanesyan were detained in Georgia while attempting to smuggle gold to this country.

Georgian Ministry of Finance said the Armenian citizens were detained in Sadakhli check-point while they were trying to run 500 g of gold without the note of charges. Total cost of the gold confiscated from the Armenians was 31 000 lari. This is third fact of Armenian gold smuggle to Georgia. The smugglers can face with the imprisonment from 8 to 11 years.
